https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCUTOzBtLxo1ZAtBuY3n7a5A Chassis number 72328C - we are informed that this Albion was originally ordered on February 10th 1955 by "National Benzole" the Petroleum Brand with their head office at London's Grosvenor Gardens and identified UK wide by their "Mr Mercury" iconic branding. This Albion was one of four delivered to the Company on June 3rd 1955 as a Chassis Cab to have their own Tanker body fitted at the time. We understand that the lorry was to have had a "Pilot" Cab fitted but was infact fitted with a "Dayson" Cab. Bearing the London registration "PYO" which would have been issued between March and August 1955. In 1957 "National Benzole" where to be taken over by "Shell Mex BP" although the company was to continue trading under their own name, being rebranded as "National" in the early 1960's. In October 1963 the Lorry, we are informed was sold to "Turner & Bixton" a Sheffield based Heating oil company who appear to have owned the Lorry until around May 1968 most likely delivering Heating Oil in the local area. The next known owner was to be a Farmer in Sutton Scarsdale, Derbyshire who fitted a Flatbed body and was used it for farm work, until it was eventually laid up until 1998. AT this time the Lorry found by its next owner and it was to be the subject of a much needed major restoration involving the Cab and Chassis this owner subsequentially sold the Lorry again to another owner in Girton, Cambridgeshire who was to fully renovate it. This quick succession of owners at the begining of the millenium shows yet another in and around 2003 this time in Newark Nottinghamshire and there is record of the Lorry at a Show in 2008 bearing the livery we see today of "BRS Newark". In July 2019 the Lorry was to to find its most recent owner in County Durham. Gratefully received assistance from the "Biggar Albion Foundation" in filling in parts of this Lorry's history, there is no doubt that there are other parts of the history that remain unkinown at the time of this listing. The Lorry retains its "Oval Brass" plate and original "Brass Build Plate" which are affixed securly in the Cab behind the drivers seat. This Lot is sold as Commercial plus VAT.
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCUTOzBtLxo1ZAtBuY3n7a5A Chassis number BA92GK90255 - this Dagenham built LHD 2 Door DeLuxe example shows a build date of February 1967 and being first registered in Europe on Macrh 17th 1967 and stills retains its unique European Interior trim. We are informed the car was a regular show scene attendee on the Continent until it returned to the UK during 2016 after which it has seen little use. The car is now fully UK registered and ready to start the next chapter of its life. The Mark II Cortina was intially launched on October 18th 1966 to the slogan "New Cortina is More Cortina" and for 1967 it was Britains most popular new car an acolade Ford has been chasing since the inital Cortina launch in 1962. This is a Series One Mark II distinguishable by no "FORD" lettering on either the Bonnet or Boot lid and no full width Chrome Strips on the rear panel above and below the rear light clusters.
Chassis number S988264DN. intoduced for February 1957 to compliment the existing 2.4 litre the 3.4 Litre was a response to pressure from US Jaguar Dealers. The 3.4 had a larger front grille for better cooling, a stronger rear axle and rear wheel covers cut away to accommodate the wire wheels' knock-off hubcaps. At this time the 2.4 Litre was also given the larger grille. After 200 cars had been built and exported to the USA and just prior to the car's launch a major fire on February 12th 1957 at the Browns Lane Factory completely destroyed 3.4 Litre production lines. What we know of this example is that during 1989 a Dutch Classic Car Dealer purchased it from an American lady owner and went on to sell the car to a fellow Dutchman the car was during 1991 featured in a Dutch Classic car magazine. Some years later the car found its second Dutch owner a man who was to cherish the car for some 20 years before the car arrived in the UK around 2014. This examples Heritage Certificate shows a date of manufacture of February 26th 1958 and it being supplied to its first owner through Jaguar Cars New York as a Black Manual Overdrive LHD car with Red upholstery. The car retains a good history file which documents the large amounts lavished on this cars maintenance and tells some of the cars life story
