AWAITING DELIVERY. Chassis number 119255521. the vendor states that "this car was built in South Africa and purchased in the Beaufort West area of the Karoo Desert. This is a project car that may son and late husband worked on for a few years before leaving South Africa and relocating to the United Kingdom. The car was originally built in SA and spent the first 50 years of its life in a desert. The dry hot conditions have helped with keeping the chassis and paintwork in good condition. Since it has been in the UK the car has been stored in a dry garage and although fully UK registered it has never been driven on UK roads. The car was last serviced during 2023.Known modifications made included Rebuilt front end and lowered suspension (Bilstein & Eibach), Low profile tyres with MK4 Golf Brake discs and Calipers, New Master & Slave Cylinder, Modern electronics including immobiliser, VDO gauges, Endurance Fuel Tank, One piece windows, EMPI components (eg. Shifter, Aluminum running boards), Replaced clutch, 009 Distributor, Heat exchanges removed, modern exhaust, fitted blue dots in brake lights. After two years of not being used, the car now has 15 litres of fuel and runs again with new 12V Battery (Sept 2025). During the process of turning the key in the ignition, the switch lock cylinder broke off (see plastic bag) and the car now needs to be started with a pair of long nosed pliers. Supplied with the car is also the original Wolfsberg Steering Wheel and original Ignition Cylinder, along with other parts, books and spares".
