The original lady owner purchased this van on March 20th 1969 and was to keep the van for 36 years before it was sold to her neighbour. The restoration of this van commenced during 2005 and there is some photographic evidence a list of parts and ancillaries and a good quantity of invoices. The first MOT test after restoration on file shows a mileage reading of 78349 miles. In recent years the van has been part of a private collection and this accounts for the limited mileage since it was restored. The Ford Escort saloon was launched during January 1968 with the commercial version following during April of the same year using all new panel work except for the rear doors which were carried over from the Anglia based vans.
