A 125 SHEERLINE
ESTIMATE £6750 - £7500. Chassis number DS1-9717. This example was built during April 1952 and dispatched from the factory to Car Mart Limited London and still bears its original Essex registration number as issued from October 1952. The cars first owner was a Company Managing Director from Cambridgeshire and we understand that this Company went into receivership during 1966 when the car was laid up. It appears from what is known that from 1966 to 1997 the car was off the road which might account for the "Imported Reregistered" note on the cars history check, as when an original number plate like this is reapplied for it may then show as Reregistered at that point. The vendor and current registered keeper of 6 years has invoices for various works totaling over £12500 of expenditure during her ownership. The Sheerline was the first Austin product to carry the famous "Flying A" bonnet mascot which was famously designed within one day and was based on the contemporary Bentley bonnet mascot. The vendor is keen to say that the car is very original and has not had a repaint, also telling us the roof lining is original and the car has a working sunroof further detail are available in our library.
